PARENTS ASSOCIATION NEWSLETTER
Dear Parents / Guardians,
The A.G.M of the Parent’s Association was held on 1st October, since then the following committee was elected:
Chairperson – Eilis Gaffney
Secretary – Sinead O’Mahony
Treasurer – Frank Ivers
The committee is made up of 26 Parents representatives
The role of the Parents Association is the structure through which parents / guardians in a school can work together for the best possible education for their child. It works with the principal, staff and the Board of Management to build an effective partnership between home and school. Funding or supplementary costs of extracurricular activities in the school is our main agenda.
Illegal Parking / Smoking
We urge parents for the safety / health of all our children to please refrain from parking on the double yellow lines outside the school and smoking within the school grounds.
Breakdown of the €50 that parents / guardians pay
These funds are used for photocopying, arts & crafts and pupils personal accident insurance, which is a 24/7 cover for 365 days of the year and it does not affect the school insurance. Should you have any queries on this you can contact Allianz.
Bag Packing will be held in Dunnes Stores on the Childer’s Road on Friday 27th & Saturday 28th November. Times are Firday from 10am to 8pm and Saturday from 10am to 6pm. This year we would be grateful of a lot more help, the more hands we have the more money we make.
Last year our Christmas Raffle was a huge success and we a re extremely grateful to all for the generous sponsorship / prizes we received. This year we intend to hold the Christmas Raffle again. For printing purposes we would be grateful if we could receive main sponsorship / prizes before Friday 20th November. All other items donated by the parents for the hampers (e.g chocolate, biscuits, candles, wine or any non perishable items) can be left with Mrs. Foley or Debbie in the school by Friday December 18th 2015. All pupils will be handed out one book of tickets to sell, €2 each or €10 for a book of 6.
